My style traits & influences

I love the city, have a great affection for anything organized, love Americanos, fresh flowers, would always rather be wearing one less piece of jewelry, love news on my iPhone but will never give up savoring the pages of design magazines, believe deeply in the handwritten note, promise that one day I’ll be a great cook, secretly love wandering through Scott’s Antiques alone, delight in the photographs of Bill Cunningham, swear by cutting ones wardrobe in half, fall in love with NYC every time I visit and consider my father’s artistic eye my best inherited trait.

I lived abroad in Asia for three years which has influenced me toward living simply, both seen through its people’s living spaces and in their belongings. Less really is less and that is very freeing! A typical cobblestone street noodle restaurant would contain worn wooden farmhouse style tables but set with porcelain bowls. Subtle pairings of old world with new and sturdy with delicate are beautiful images.

So….clear away the clutter, take a good look at what you really have, display only what you really love or what has influenced you. These are easy ways to style your home!
